Rating plates come in many shapes and sizes. For any machine, equipment manufacturer and/or supplier, it is a must to reveal the specific technical data. For professional appearance, service purposes and mandatory certification.

CE marking on machinery
When traded or put into service after 1 January 1995, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC must be fully complied with for all new independently operating machinery, for trade and/or own use. This requirement also applies to second-hand machinery imported from outside the European Economic Area* (EEA), to modified machinery, with hazards and risks different from the original design and to machinery with a different intended use.
Practical situation:
You import machines from Asia but after your modification, the original nameplates no longer display the correct technical data and safety symbols required by EU CE directives.
Consequence:
Your machines cannot leave until this is sorted out!

CE marking for steel structures (EN-1090-1)
Practical situation:
From 1 July 2014, all components of a load-bearing steel structure must have CE marking according to the NEN-EN 1090 guidelines.
Consequence:
A construction product may no longer be marketed without CE marking if a harmonised European standard has been published for the product. This measure places high demands on the tracebility of structural components.
Solution:
This tracebility requirement therefore demands a high-quality label that is scratch-resistant, very difficult to remove, and should be UV-resistant for years. You easily meet these requirements by coating your structural parts with our hightack polyester tapes (in white or aluminium-coloured versions) printed with our SR10 Resin ink ribbon.

UL marking on export
Practical situation:
You want to export industrial control cabinets to the US but here your CE mark does not apply. They must comply with the UL 508A guideline. Apart from the fact that your switchgear must comply with this, there is also a requirement for the label to be UL-certified.
Consequence:
Your machines cannot leave until this is sorted out!
Solution:
Design your personalised identification plates and print them on our UL-certified white and aluminium polyester tapes.
Recommended material: UL-listed PT700 white or (matte or semi-flossy) aluminum-coloured polyester.

Rating plates for cooling and refrigeration plants
Practical situation:
Part of the mandatory certification is that all delivered refrigeration and cooling systems are required to have a rating plate on which the technical specifications and filling details are stated and, if necessary, an instruction card is placed.
Consequence:
If you do not provide the plant with a rating plate, it is not PED-certified and you are in violation.
Solution:

Provide your serial plate with a 1D barcode or 2D QR code
Practical situation:
Service technicians and engineers like to have quick insight into the plant’s maintenance data in case of breakdowns and maintenance.
Consequence:
Manually searching and typing data takes time and can lead to errors.
Solution:
Also print a unique QR barcode on the identification plate so that the engineer can scan it with a laptop or tablet, thus connecting directly to the maintenance software online. These barcodes can of course also be printed as separate asset labels to quickly visualise all machine and installation parts during maintenance stops, for example. The surface you apply the labels to can be very diverse and these critical labels need to stay in place under tricky conditions. We therefore recommend using our Highack tapes with extreme adhesive strength.

Prevent warranty fraud
Practical situation:
You supply expensive hardware with a certain warranty period. Users are going to make their own changes or repairs within this period (e.g. due to a malfunction) anyway, damaging the equipment or machine. A warranty claim is wrongly made by the user however it is difficult for the manufacturer to prove that the customer caused this himself.
Consequence:
You vindicate the obvious customer – because the customer is king – but the warranty is wrongly claimed.
Solution:
For fraud-sensitive equipment and products, we recommend printing on our VOID tape that captures all important data in a tamper-proof label.
This label seals access to equipment. If a user decides to delete the label, this will leave the text VOID and the label will not be usable again. It is then obvious that the equipment has been tampered with and you can prove that the warranty claim is not valid.

Resopal labels – the alternative to engraved resopal plates
Practical situation:
You have taken on a project and the specifications mention resopal slabs. Ordering these plates is often time-consuming and costly.
Consequence:
You are dependent on long delivery times from your supplier and high production costs for smaller quantities.
Solution:
Our resopal labels/resolabels are the perfect alternative and are considered an equivalent product in most cases.
This material consists of a 2mm high-quality foam tape coated with a white or silver polyester film. This makes it a thickened “label” but looks and feels like an engraved solid plate. Big advantage is that you can easily design and print the resolution label yourself, you won’t have to wait and you’ll have lower costs.
The quality of material and print is very high because you print the resopal label with our ultra-strong SR20 Special Resin print ribbon and you are guaranteed a scratch-proof print suitable for years of industrial indoor and outdoor use.

Heavy Duty Identification for extreme situations
Practical situation:
You develop machines exposed to harsh conditions such as mechanical load, high-pressure and/or chemical cleaning, weather influences or extremely high/cold temperatures.
Consequence:
You are looking for a label (material) that remains extra durable / permanently attached to your equipment and also meets the set guidelines/requirements.
Solution:
Our PT700 aluminium polyester line features a non-ageing permanent adhesive as standard. As standard, this material is scratch-resistant, light chemical resistant and UV and weather resistant. In addition, we can supply this material with a special Hightack adhesive layer that will make your label adhere even to very difficult surfaces.
For most extreme situations, we have developed a laminate that you can easily apply to the label as an extra protective layer, which will make it even more resistant to UV and chemicals.
